12/6/2004 - New Corporate Headquarters for Imaging Business Machines
Designform, Inc. has completed conceptual design for a new corporate campus for Birmingham based Imaging Business Machines, an international company that manufactures high speed, high capacity document scanners that convert paper documents into color, grayscale, and bitonal images. Located in Irondale, Alabama, the project includes adaptive reuse of an existing 37,000 square foot building, a new 10,000 square foot two-story executive office building, an 1,800 square foot entrance lobby/museum/ gathering space, a 6,000 square foot training center addition, and a 6,000 square foot engineering wing expansion. Extensive exterior site and landscape improvements including a new recreational walking track for employees are planned to transform the site from its previous use as an automobile dealership into a high tech corporate campus. Construction will begin on the project in early 2005.
Designform, Inc. will provide Architectural Design, Interior Design, and Project Management services for the project. Craig Rogers, AIA is the principal in charge, and Tom Kidwell, AIA is the project manager.
