12/7/2004 - Designform completes HQ plans for Imaging Business Machines
The design for a new Irondale headquarters for Imaging Business Machines has been finished by Designform Inc. Construction will begin in early 2005.
Imaging Business Machines is an international manufacturer of high-speed, high-capacity document scanners that convert paper documents into color, grayscale, and bi-tonal images.
The project includes renovation of an existing 37,000-square-foot building; a new 10,000-square-foot, two-story executive office building; an 1,800 square foot entrance lobby-museum-gathering space; a 6,000-square-foot training center addition; and a 6,000-square-foot engineering wing expansion.
Exterior site and landscape improvements include a new recreational walking track for employees, and are planned to transform the site from its previous use as an automobile dealership into a high-tech corporate campus, according to the news statement.
Designform will provide architectural and interior design, and project management services for the project. Craig Rogers is the Designform principal in charge. Tom Kidwell is project manager.
